The Game of Death

I was creating a board game and was picking his brain for ideas and when he asked "well, what's the point of the game?" and I said "to win" he said "what if it wasn't?" It was from this conversation that "The Game of Death" was born. In the game it is more important to keep the other players from winning than to concentrate on winning yourself. In other words, it is a board game that is entirely defensive in nature.

Two main versions of the game were eventually developed. In the first version the players use life and death cards with a board to play. When they land on a death square the player takes a death card which has a number value. The other players then use their life cards to keep that player from dying. If they have insufficient cards the dying player must use theirs. The game ends when someone can no longer be saved. In the second version the players ignore the number values and instead the players not at-risk must come up with living and dying scenarios for the at-risk player. The at-risk player must then choose which they feel is the scenario that will actually kill them. If they are right they win, if not the game moves on.
