Flash: Fun and Games!
We were supplied with a single stock image for our final visual design project, a public phone. The only requirement was that this image must be included somehow in the final version of the project. From there we were to use text, sound and images to make a statement of some kind using flash or a similar program. I used Flash 8.
Given the state of the phone, it would have been easy to go with something sad or to have made some kind of social commentary. Instead, I decided to challenge myself to figure out a way to make it fun. In the end I discovered a way to incorperate the image while following the video genre of "video game preview teaser." This also gave me the option to actually use extremely poor design practices but by doing so creating something more at the core of the genre and thus actually good design.
