Game Art: Pong
The idea behind this piece was to create a piece of artwork that was somehow procedurally based. This could be either with some kind of rule system the piece had to follow or a game that messes with convention a bit. I chose the latter and felt that Processing, with its ease of development and deployment, would be the best choice to create it. Here we have two versions of pong: white-out pong and flux pong. In white out pong the board is constantly getting covered with the trail of the ball until the game is no longer playable. Thus the game actually becomes harder without needing to arbitrarily increasing ball speed as time passes. The second game, flux pong, is in the spirit of the Fluxus movement. Specifically it takes its roots in a ping-pong set they made that was full of holes, had paddles made of weird materials, and so forth.
